i just finished watching THe Emperors' Club on HBO. i remembered watchign it last year with Stef, Mavis and some other person whom i seriously forgot cos it's not whitney or yeeteng as both of them pointed that fact tome. bleahhh. and 4 of us agreed that it was such a great show. A show that made us think of the things in life. How one wonderful teacher wanted to help mould the character called Sedgewick Bell. How Mr Hundert's such a great history teacher. i wish all history teachers were like him. and well i dunno the show just has so many hidden messages. and there was this quote he said but i acnt recall sumthign about .." a single failure and solitary success".

and like 20 years later or sumthing, how his former class was so sweet to him byt surprising him w/o of cos Bell. and Missoudy is damn funny la. aside that, how Bell never changed his ways and in the end that guy who will do anything be it cheating, lying or whatever to get his way and guess who overheard him saying that to Mr Hundert, his own son. oh well. great show. those ppl who havent caught it. go catch it. really really wonderful show. right stef? haha.

and i especially love the last part. where Mr Hundert came back to St. Benedicts to teach and this boy came late for his class.

Boy: i'm sorry im late Sir.
Mr Hundert: Its alrite and what's your name ?
Boy: Martin Blythe sir.

and Mr Hundert looks at the boy with a smile on his face.

Mr Hundert: Of Course, Mr Blythe. Now take a seat.

well that boy is the son of one of his students also called Martin Blythe and well it was just a mometn nostalgia for him. and that guy happened to be just outside the calssroom walking off. and then Mr Hundert told that boy to read the thing which was above the door. and well he almost cried cos when his father was in his class. on the first day, like the boy, he told his father to read the quotation. sweet.

hahah.. i realised i just rambled on and on about the show. but really its such a great show. really can make you think about the things in life, about morals, character, virtue and well even the joy in learning. sadly, ive yet to come across a teacher like Mr HUndert. maybe there were some who came close. but not very close. the character Mr Hundert's like such an inspiration la.
